One part of me that many might not know is I don’t eat a ton of processed sugar. Why you ask? Cause I had some health reasons about two years ago and one way to help heal was to cut out processed sugars. This opened my eyes to the world of sugar. I had no clue how much processed sugar I was eating. I do have sugar now but I watch how much I consume and try and stay away from things that are too high.

Fast forward to a girl’s night where we were trying to find a fun drink recipe that did not involve 1 cup of sugar. It was harder then we thought. Well, I found one on the Medical Medium Instagram page. I tried it out and let me tell you it tastes like an Orange Julius and brought me back to childhood. If you are looking for healthy alternatives for your family or even just yourself check out this recipe. I tested it out and tweaked it a little bit to make it more on the go friendly. Also, If you have popsicle molds or even ice cube molds and toothpicks I think this would be great as a frozen treat. Think, being the keyword, I have yet to test out the popsicle idea.

Health benefits according to the Medical Medium. If you don’t know who that is, here is a quick rundown. He is a medium who talks to the Angel of Compassion. He channels the wisdom and insight from this Angel to help people heal. He is the one who started the celery juice craze if you know about that. Anyways, the Medical Medium says that oranges help with adding healthy vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. They help fight off viral infections, relieve constipation, and help with a list or other medical problems. Bananas he says are one of the most healing fruits because they are 76% water and pack with vitamins and minerals. They are great brain food for those who need to study or take tests and help strengthen the nervous system. Coconut water helps provide hydration and nourishment to your cells while the vanilla gives it an ice-cream taste and soothes the central nervous systems for those who are stressed. I promised to be transparent and honest with you so here is a link to his blog to read more about this recipe and about him, if you are interested!

Notes on cutting out sugar! Did you know some vanilla extract has corn syrup in it? Read the label if you want to cut back on sugars. Next, juice. Juice has a lot of sugars in it. Not all bad but if you want to cut back on this you can juice your own oranges or if you have a high-speed blender blend 3 oranges whole with the rines cut off. I wanted it to be quick and easy though so I just used juice. Last but not least! I am more sensitive to sugars now which means things taste sweater to me. When my friend tried this drink she wanted it a tinny bit sweater so we added honey onto the top of her drink to give it a tinny bit more sweetness. Or add more coconut water to give it a bit more sweetness.

I hope you have a great weekend and enjoy this new drink recipe! I would love to see you all enjoying these drinks! Feel free to tag me on Facebook and Instagram @intuitivedesignsmc I would love to see photos of this!
